Engraving is customary on a medal or an identity bracelet, on the back or on the plate. Ask an Oroma adviser, on WhatsApp or through the contact page, what is possible on the piece you have chosen.

Birth and christening jewellery: a gift to keep
A piece of jewellery given for a birth or a christening is unusual in that the child will only really wear it years later. So it is chosen to last. The classics are the medal, the fine chain, the identity bracelet and, for a little girl, stud earrings.
With a very young child, caution comes first. A baby does not sleep in a chain or a bracelet, and wears jewellery only under an adult's eye. Many families bring it out for the celebration and the photographs, then put it back in its box.
Choose a length that leaves some margin, so that the child can wear the chain while growing. An infant's skin is sensitive: ask what the alloy is made of, especially for white gold, which can contain nickel, as our article on 18-carat yellow, white and rose gold explains. You will find other ideas among the gold jewellery to give.
Frequently asked questions
There is no fixed age, but one simple rule: never unsupervised while the child is small, and never to sleep in. A chain can get caught, and a small part that comes loose can be swallowed. Wait until the child is old enough to look after it.
A piece she will wear every day, such as a pendant or discreet earrings. If you are thinking of a ring, bear in mind that fingers change during pregnancy. It is better to wait before taking the size, or to choose a piece that needs no measuring.
