The Oroma Diamond showroom is in Casablanca, at Galerie Panorama, Magasin 48, in Sidi Maarouf. You can ask to see a piece there before making up your mind, through the private appointment page, on WhatsApp or through the contact page. A visit is first of all for seeing the jewellery in person, and it is worth preparing.

Where is the showroom?

At Galerie Panorama, Magasin 48, in the Sidi Maarouf district, south of the centre of Casablanca. Before you travel, tell an adviser which day suits you and which pieces you want to see. That way you will know, before setting off, what can be shown to you.

What is a visit to the showroom for?

Seeing the stone move

A photo freezes a diamond at its best angle. In your hand, you see how it returns the light as the ring turns, and no image conveys that. Look at it near a window too, away from the spotlights, which make any stone sparkle.

Judging the ring on the finger

On the hand, you discover what the product page does not say: the height of the stone, the weight of the band, the width that suits a slim finger or a long one. If a wedding ring is planned, try the two rings together to see whether they sit snugly without leaving a gap.

Comparing natural and laboratory-grown

Oroma Diamond sells jewellery set with natural diamonds and with laboratory-grown diamonds. If you are undecided, ask to see both. Side by side, you will find that they cannot be told apart by eye, and the decision will rest on the budget and the origin, not on appearance. Our page on laboratory-grown diamonds in Morocco explains what separates them.

Matching the documents to the piece

This is the right moment to check that the paperwork really describes the stone in front of you. Compare the report number with the one you checked online, and ask to see the laser inscription on the girdle under the loupe, when the stone has one. The weight and dimensions must match exactly.

How should you prepare your visit?

  1. Set a ceiling before you come and tell the adviser. Our article on the budget for an engagement ring in Morocco explains what pushes the price up.
  2. Gather a few pictures of rings you like, and note the colour of gold worn every day by the person the ring is for.
  3. Have an idea of the finger size. The Oroma size guide can be downloaded and printed; if you can borrow a ring she wears, measure its inside diameter.
  4. Send these details with your request for a visit, naming the designs you spotted on the site.
  5. If a stone has a report, ask for its number by message and check it yourself on the laboratory's website before you travel.

What should you ask once there?

Write down your questions before you come, and keep the answers in writing:

  • Which laboratory issued the report for the centre stone?
  • What will the invoice state: origin, weight, grades, metal and fineness, report number?
  • Where is the gold hallmark on this ring?
  • Can this design be made bigger or smaller later?
  • What care should be planned for the claws?

These checks apply at any jeweller, and they are set out in detail in buying a diamond with confidence in Morocco. Nothing obliges you to buy on the day. Take notes and decide with a clear head.

And after the visit?

If you did not decide on the spot, note for each piece you saw what you liked and what bothered you: the height of the stone, the colour of the gold in daylight, the comfort on the finger. Read these notes again the next day, calmly. Very often, one design stands out on its own.

The rest is settled by message. Go back to the adviser on WhatsApp with a precise question, for example whether the chosen design comes in another colour of gold, rather than starting all over again. When a piece suits you, ask in writing for its full description, as it will appear on the invoice, and check the report number one last time before paying.

Coming alone or as a couple?

If the ring is to stay a surprise, come alone or with a trusted person who knows her tastes well, and bring the size. If you are choosing together, each of you can try the rings and say frankly what you prefer, which is better than a compromise made from photos. To compare the families of rings before you come, read our page on diamond rings in Morocco.

Our pages by city

The showroom is in Casablanca. If you live elsewhere, these pages give the travel times and how to prepare everything at a distance with an adviser on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, and it is the best way to prepare the visit. Give the name of the design or send a screenshot to the adviser when you ask to come in. The adviser will tell you whether the piece can be shown to you that day.

Come anyway: seeing the ring is still useful. For the size, the safest way is to measure the inside of a ring she already wears on her ring finger, following our article on measuring your ring size. Between two sizes, go for the larger one and ask whether the design can be adjusted.

Yes, advice and orders also go through WhatsApp or the contact page. In that case, ask for photos of the piece and the report number, which you check before paying. The adviser will tell you how the ring can be handed over to you.

It is useful for choosing a wedding ring that goes with an existing engagement ring, or for comparing two colours of gold. Mention it to the adviser when you ask for the visit. If you are hoping for a resizing or a clean, ask first whether that service is offered.
