The 4Cs that determine a diamond's value
The weight of the diamond. A higher carat means a larger, more precious stone.
Graded from D (colourless) to Z. The less colour, the higher the quality.
Measures internal imperfections. VS1-VS2 offers excellent value, with stones that look clean to the naked eye.
The most important factor for brilliance. An excellent cut maximises sparkle.

How to choose the perfect diamond ring
A diamond does not shine by its light alone, but by the story it tells.

Oroma Diamond offers jewellery set with natural diamonds and laboratory-grown diamonds: engagement rings, wedding rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets. The showroom is in Casablanca, Galerie Panorama, Magasin 48, in Sidi Maarouf, and you can ask to see a piece there before you decide. Advice and orders go through WhatsApp or the contact page. If this is your first diamond purchase, the pointers below will save you time.
Both are diamond, with the same carbon crystal and the same hardness. Well cut, they sparkle as much as each other. They do not have the same origin: the first comes from a mine, where it took an immense time to form, the second comes out of a reactor after a few weeks. The natural one is rarer. At equal quality, a laboratory-grown diamond costs markedly less, so the same sum buys a bigger stone. Neither is better than the other. Our comparison natural or laboratory-grown diamond also covers resale.
Four criteria describe a stone, the 4Cs: weight in carats, colour, clarity and cut quality. It is the cut that makes a diamond sparkle, so it is better not to economise on it. Colour and clarity leave more room, since a G or an H looks white once set and most VS2 stones show nothing without a loupe. As for weight, the price rises in steps at 0.50 or 1 carat, whereas a stone chosen just below has almost the same diameter. The full scales are in our guide to the 4Cs of a diamond.
A photograph does not tell you everything about a piece of jewellery. At the Sidi Maarouf showroom, you can ask to see a piece before buying it. If you live far from Casablanca, or if you prefer to start with a message, write to an adviser on WhatsApp: say which piece you like, your finger size if you know it and the sum you want to spend. The adviser is the one to ask for what the site does not state, namely the price, the lead time and the method of payment. The address and the form are on the contact page.
A ring size is the circumference of the finger in millimetres: a 52 mm finger wears a 52. A strip of paper and a ruler are enough to measure it at home. Do it at the end of the day and at room temperature, because a finger is slimmer when it is cold. Between two sizes, keep the larger. The downloadable size guide gives a table and circles on which to place a ring you already wear. Print it at 100% and check that the control line really measures 50 mm before you rely on it.
Frequently asked questions
Orders are placed with an adviser, on WhatsApp or through the form on the contact page. Name the piece that interests you and, for a ring, your finger size. Price, payment and delivery are not specified on the site: ask the adviser to confirm them in writing before you commit.
Yes, you can ask to see a piece at the Casablanca showroom, Galerie Panorama, Magasin 48, in Sidi Maarouf. Write to an adviser on WhatsApp before you travel. The adviser will tell you when to come and whether the piece can be shown to you.
The material is the same, and neither is an imitation like moissanite or zirconium oxide. Only the origin changes, and with it rarity and price: with equal characteristics, a laboratory-grown diamond is markedly cheaper. Always have the origin of the stone written on the invoice.
Measure the circumference of your finger in millimetres with a strip of paper. If a ring already fits you on the same finger, measure its inside diameter and multiply it by 3.14. Repeat two or three times, then give the result to an adviser if you are still torn between two sizes.
Ask for the report of an independent laboratory and check its number yourself on that laboratory's website. The invoice must state the weight and quality of the stone, its natural or laboratory origin, and the fineness of the gold. Look at the metal's hallmark too, and ask your questions about after-sales service before you pay.
