Diamond rings: which one to wear, and on which finger

All the rings of the house are gathered here, those given for a proposal as well as those you buy for yourself. If you are looking for a wedding, engagement rings and women's wedding rings each have their own page.

For a ring worn for pleasure, start with the finger. The ring finger and the middle finger are not the same size, nor are the right hand and the left. Then think about height. A stone set high catches the light well but snags on knitwear and pockets, whereas a bezel setting or a low ring can be worn from morning to night without getting in the way.

The size is given in millimetres of finger circumference. Our article on measuring your ring size explains the paper strip method and the mistakes to avoid.

Frequently asked questions

No. It is the same crystal, with the same sparkle and the same hardness, and the eye cannot tell them apart. The difference lies in origin and price, and it must appear on the stone's report as well as on the invoice.
